Shutter to Shudder Receives Reader’s Favorite 5-Star Review!

I am once again humbled and honored to receive a 5-star review from Reader’s Favorite!  Many thanks to Miss Sierra Edelen for the review!

“An old camera, mysterious photos and a series of murders… Hailey Sloan is like anyone else, just trying to pave her way as a photojournalist. But when an old camera comes into her possession while helping her grandmother clean the attic, her life will change monumentally. A picture mysteriously shows up at the end of the reel on Hailey’s ‘new’ camera and it is a stunning photo of a red-haired woman, a dead woman. After tracking down where the body is, Hailey meets Officer Braden McGregor and so begins a challenging trial for everyone involved as more pictures show up. Follow Hailey Sloan in Shutter to Shudder as she tries to solve the murders before she herself gets caught in the trap.

Vicki Stewart knows how to write a thrilling novel and proved just that in Shutter to Shudder. It was filled with amazing plot twists and had a very good balance of themes and elements to the storyline throughout, as well as good character development.  Vicki Stewart did a wonderful job with her writing and created a riveting story for readers. I highly recommend Shutter to Shudder.”

Shutter to Shudder Now Available on Amazon.com!

Shutter to Shudder has been released and is now available in both paperback and e-book on Amazon.com.  Click here to purchase your copy today!

The inspiration for this story came to me while watching my daughter take pictures with our Nikon camera one day.  Enthralled by the highly magnified images she saw through the camera’s lens, I remember thinking, “What if I put a paranormal spin on a story and have it be a camera with a past, not an actual person?”

And the story evolved from there.

The main character, Hailey Sloan, was a lot of fun to create.  She’s quick-witted, kind, ambitious, honest, and is one of those people you always turn to for good sound advice – and to join you for some spicy late night tacos!

I hope you enjoy this new story and would love to hear from you once you’ve read it.

Happy reading!

Shutter to Shudder Coming Soon!

I realize it’s been a while since I posted an update on Shutter to Shudder.  Earlier this year my husband and I published our first collaborative cookbook from our food blog, ‘IfMyEyesCouldEat.com,’ which temporarily took some of my attention away from Shutter to Shudder.

But fear not!  Shutter to Shudder is in its final editing stages and will be available in both paperback and Kindle formats in the next couple of months.

Here’s a teaser for you in the meantime!

Following in the footsteps of her grandfather, world-renowned photo-journalist, Arthur Harrison, Hailey Sloan dreams of becoming a famous reporter and placing herself in dangerous situations to find that perfect story has become her way of life.

While rummaging through her grandparent’s attic, Hailey finds one of her grandfather’s old cameras and is certain the camera is the key to her success. But the camera has a secret. When the clock strikes 3:00 AM the shutter clicks and mysterious photos of murdered women start to appear in the film, photo’s Hailey knows she hasn’t taken.

Undaunted by the camera’s mysterious power, she discovers the location of several of the murdered women who quickly launch her career as one of Milwaukee’s top crime reporters.  Each discovery brings her closer and closer to the killer.

Caught up in her newfound success, Hailey doesn’t realize just how dangerous her life has become until the killer comes after her.

It’s become a game of cat and mouse.  Who will catch who first?

Advanced Peek At The Cover For My New Book, SHUTTER to SHUDDER

I spent the last several months clearing my head after The Tori Cooper Novels ended, so I could prepare for my next story that conceptualized in my head back in December 2016 while I was finishing up Changing of the Guard.

I’m always a little anxious when I start a new story. However, I also know I cannot rest on my laurels for too long.  For those of you who have been asking when the next book will be available, (thank you for asking by the way), I am very happy to say that I’m back at the computer writing!

My new book is entitled Shutter to Shudder, so get ready for some unexpected plot twists, and lots of supernatural creepiness you’ve come to expect.

Here’s a sneak peek of the cover but that’s all I’m going to give you right now. There’ll be more teasers to come in the months that follow!

In the meantime, happy reading!

Reader’s Choice Award Contest Book Review – Changing of the Guard Received 5 out of 5 Stars!

I am so grateful for another 5-star review from Reader’s Favorite, this time by Arya Fomonyuy.  Thank you so much for your glowing review of Changing of the Guard, Book Five in the Tori Cooper Novels!

Reviewed By Arya Fomonyuy for Readers’ Favorite

Changing of the Guard is Book Five in the Tori Cooper Novels by Vicki Stewart, a scintillating paranormal read that will grab the interest of fans of fantasy, paranormal, thrillers, and crime fiction. It’s rare to find an author who combines elements from different genres and successfully crafts a story that is balanced and reads with fluidity, yet Vicki Stewart has succeeded in doing this with unusual mastery.

The FBI is still on the hunt for serial killer Zander, and they rely strongly on Agent Tori Cooper’s paranormal skills to lead them. When Tori discovers the hideout of the mysterious, dark-haired woman believed to have a strong connection with Zander, they circle her hiding place, believing it is their chance to break the case and bring in the demon who has caused untold pain to many families. Then there is a twist and Agent Tori Cooper is in such a dilemma that provokes powerful conflicting emotions, a dilemma worse than anything she’d experienced before. Can she make the right choice?

The author wastes no time before introducing readers to one of the compelling characters in the story, the antagonist, and she does it in a way that allows the reader to penetrate the inner workings of his mind. The stream of consciousness comes across vividly in the writing and it doesn’t slow down the pace in any way. I enjoyed the way Zander is developed and how the author penetrates his conflicting thoughts. He is a pathological killer. Changing of the Guard features excellent prose, a powerful, fast-paced, and conflict-driven plot, and characters that are hard to put down. This book was delightful and very satisfying, a perfect example of a page-turner.
